New Start Services

Academic testing for elementary, middle school, and high school youth is recommended for two primary purposes: if the student is having difficulty in the current educational program and documentation is necessary to achieve educational accommodations or when the student is homeschooled and documentation is necessary for parents and/or state requirements. The length of time for academic testing varies from one hour to four hours, depending on the specific test and the purpose of the testing.

Assesses 49 elements in 6 basic areas: brain dominance, sensory modalities, physical needs, environment, social groupings, and attitudes. Identifies how individuals learn, think, concentrate, solve problems and master learning activities. Learning Styles Assessment is available for ages 7 and up. The parent is provided a copy of the assessment to complete and then returns the completed assessment to the evaluator. The evaluator then mails a personalized 12-17 page written report to the parent.

Evaluator is available to attend 504 meetings and IEP meetings as an educational consultant for students who have been tested.

Each of the above testing scenarios would include a simple report of the results. However, if a lengthy, formal report, including possible work or school accommodations is required rather than a simple report of the results, a payment of $100.00 will be required in addition to the hourly testing fee.
